Countdown to the Salmonfly Hatch

Everyday recently we are continuously bombarded with facts and statistics about the coronavirus. So in an attempt to change the channel and hear something different I was listening to one of the Most recent Radiolab podcasts and it made me think it would be fun to put together a list of some fun facts and statistics that had nothing to do with the coronavirus.

Fun Facts

-360,000 babies are born each day

-17.7 million people on average are celebrating a birthday on any given day

-The human eye blinks an average of 4,200,000 times a year.

-There are 2,500,000 rivets in the Eiffel Tower

-There are more trees on Earth than there are stars in the Milky Way. Today, there are around 3 trillion trees and 400 billion stars.

-7% of American adults believe that chocolate milk comes from brown cows.

-Nearly 3% of the ice in Antarctic glaciers is penguin urine.

So after all of those random facts I thought it might be fun to add another random or not so random almost fact.

In this crazy time, where we are taking it one day at a time, it seems like it’s a little easier with some short term goals to look forward to. I know that for all of us here at the shop we are thinking about our first fishing outings after the quarantine. Hopefully this is all over well before we hit the end of the countdown.
