Tyer's Table with Carson Kelso

We have another new face at the Tyer's Table on May 25th, as Carson Kelso shares his passion for the art of fly tying and some incredible Crayfish patterns and "Game Changers."

Carson is relatively new to fly tying but has a large group of mentors in the Vancouver, Washington area who have taken him under their wing, providing encouragement and technical assistance. His enthusiasm is evident in his work, and his attention to detail is unsurpassed.

From Carson...

"Fly fishing had always been something that had interested me; there was something about the presentation, the meticulous choice of fly, and the fact it all had to do with real-world insects.. when I discovered fly tying, that is when I was really hooked, I had always been a more athletically inclined kid growing up, and I had never really had a hobby that allowed me to be creative and artistic. Being able to envision something and then put it on a hook using a mix of thread, synthetics, and natural materials was all I needed. It’s now been about 2 years of tying, and although I’ve never once saved money tying flies, it’s been a hobby and passion I will never regret adopting into my life."

Join us on May 25th at 10:30 for the debut of Carson Kelso at the Tyer's Table
