Get Outside!

While our winter hasn't been as wild as it could have been, our tolerances have changed somewhat, and most of us are ready for summer to kick off. We've been staring out the window, watching the cold rain fall for too long. It's time to Get Outside!

On Saturday, April 6th, Royal Treatment Fly Fishing and Wanderlust Overland will co-sponsor an event to inspire memorable adventures as a kickoff to summer. Whether building a serious Overland vehicle or making your family truckster a little more comfortable, we'll have options and suggestions for your "car camping" fly fishing adventures. This event will take place at BOTH businesses, and you will be incentivized to visit both to be entered in our raffle prize drawing for an Outcast FishCat boat and Echo rod outfit, Costa Sunglasses, Korker footwear, and more!

At Royal Treatment Fly Fishing...

Bring 2-cans of food to the Fly Shop for the West Linn Food Pantry to enter our raffle drawing, but you MUST deposit those tickets at Wanderlust Overland ~ 18590 OR-99E, Oregon City, OR 97045

UPDATE! We're planning a speed and accuracy casting contest, with prizes for the top scores. Entry is 1-can of food for the West Linn Food Pantry. So, do your shopping before heading to the shop, and bring a bag of groceries for those in need.

11:00 Euro Nymphing with Josh Linn (Basic techniques, rigging, and flies.) 

11:00 to 1:30 Reel Hussy Hussle Casting Contest (Speed and Accuracy) One can of food or one dollar entry. All proceeds go to the West Linn Food Pantry

2:00 Planning and navigation (Pre-planning your road trip, finding camp spots, and finding new places to fish.)

3:30 Close of event

The newest Trout rods from Sage, Winston, Scott, Loomis, and Echo will be rigged up for casting demos all day with some of the latest lines from Rio, Airflo, and Scientific Anglers. In addition, the parking lot will be packed with adventure products from Korkers, Ignik, Grayl, Goal Zero, and more...

We'll have Griz, our resident Fly Fishing Adventure Vehicle, on display, fresh off a 3000+ mile fishing/sightseeing trip through Nevada, Utah, Colorado, Idaho, and, of course, Oregon. Much of the work done on Griz over the last year that wasn't done by the Boss was completed by Micheal and his crew at Wanderlust Overland. We'll have a breakdown of safety/recovery gear, fishing gear storage, and the creature comforts built into this fly fishing machine. Ask questions, get ideas, or simply dream about your next adventure.

Maybe you're thinking of spending less time driving and more time drifting one of the Northwest's beautiful rivers; well, our friends at Clackacraft will be on hand to chat about the options and show off their newest boat. Clackacraft boats are made in Oregon and designed for our Northwest rivers. Bruce from Clackacraft will be on hand to answer questions and help you design your dream drift boat.

We'll also have boats from Outcast on display, including the new OSG Clearwater and the popular Stealth Pro. Representatives from Outcast will be on hand to answer questions about the best inflatable boats on the market. Maybe you'll walk away with a new Fish Cat 4 in our Get Outside! raffle. Just bring 2-cans of food for the West Linn Food Pantry to be entered for one of our awesome prizes! 

In addition to all of the excitement in the parking lot, we'll have tips for dry fly success, a Euro Nymphing Clinic, and basic back-country navigation. 

At Wanderlust Overland...

Wander through the collection of incredible "Overlanders" and dream about converting your rig into a serious or semi-serious adventure vehicle. Roof top tents, awnings, camp gear, suspension upgrades, auxiliary lighting, bumpers, and more will be on display. Plus, hands-on demos and contests with prizes.

Wanderlust Overland will be collecting lightly used clothing items or new socks/underwear to donate to the Francis Center in Oregon City. Each donation gets you a ticket for the raffle, which MUST be dropped off at Royal Treatment Fly Fishing to be eligible for our prizes. Other donations get you entered in their contests for additional prizes.

The Raffle Drawing will be held live on both Instagram accounts at 4:00 PM on April 6th; winners will be notified by phone and can pick up prizes during regular business hours.
