The Girl Who Ties Flies

Amanda Chapman - The Girl Who Ties Flies
Hailing from Lewiston, Idaho, Royal Treatment is excited to introduce Amanda Chapman, also known as "The Girl Who Ties Flies." With years of experience in the fly fishing industry, Amanda has worn many hats—shop staff, guide, women’s program director, fly-tying and casting instructor. Her journey began at Emerald Waters Anglers in Seattle and continued at House of Fly in Lewiston. Today, she has found her “sweet spot” swinging two-handed rods for world-renowned steelhead in Idaho’s rivers.
Originally from Western Washington, Amanda began tying flies in 2019 as a gateway into the world of steelhead fishing. What started as a creative outlet quickly evolved into a deep passion—and a true source of joy for this mama of five. Her effective and artistic patterns range from topwater skaters and muddlers to classic spey flies and large-profile intruders, including Hobo-style and heavily weighted designs.
Amanda’s flies have connected with wild steelhead in legendary rivers such as the Clearwater, Dean, Skeena, Skagit, Deschutes, Grande Ronde, Snake, and Rogue. More recently, she has expanded her creativity into the saltwater realm, designing flies for species like redfish, sheepshead, jack crevalle, and tarpon.
In addition to instructing and guiding, Amanda runs her own fly-tying business, continuing to inspire others in the craft and sport she loves.
