In Search of Gold

Are you looking for something different to do in the New Year? Does clear mountain air, comfortable camps, horses, fly rods, and Golden Trout pique your interest? Jennifer and I were each comparing our wish lists of fishing trips, and this one was high on both. Riding horseback into the John Muir forest searching for California gold is something we're looking forward to next summer, and we would love to have you join us.

The plan is to meet at the pack station in June Lake at 7 am on July 24th. The outfitter will feed us breakfast and pack our gear. We will camp on Rush Creek, where you can fish for Brook Trout in big pools near the camp. Then we will day-ride to Clark lakes and fish two different lakes; On the second day, we will go to Davis creek and fish those pools there, and then on the last day, we will ride to Alger lake and catch a Golden Trout.

The dates for this adventure are July 24th-28th, and the cost is $1600 per person plus a $40.00 forest service fee. Non-anglers are welcome! Space is very limited, so contact us today! Call Joel or Jennifer at 503.850.4397
