Tyer's Table with Nick Wheeler
Capacity: Not Set (0% booked)
St. Nick has busted a move back to the North Pole after completing his delivery rounds, but our Nickster has been getting after it on our local rivers. While the Fly Czar and I pulled shop duty on Christmas Eve, for the second year in a row Mr. Skittles texted us a photo of a chrome bright Steelhead he had just landed, just to wish us a Merry Christmas. Then, on New Year's Eve, he popped this stunning fishing out of the fog. Say what you will about his sugar loaded hyperactivity, but the kid's got game.
What's his secret? Well, for one thing, Nick has attended almost every Rob Crandall Winter Steelhead Seminar ever held in the shop since we opened. I guess he's been paying attention. He is also a pretty decent feather twister. Besides creating his own combinations of winter fluff, he's "reworked" a few favorites including Mr. Crandall's "Provider."
This Saturday, January 5th, our very own Nick Wheeler takes a seat at the Tyer's Table to share his favorite winter Steelhead patterns. Feel free to rub is head for luck, or bribe him to share his secrets to success. You know his weakness.
This non-stop flow of fly-tying intel starts at 10:30, ending when the cookies are gone and the crowd thins out.
